This page is meant to provide a listing and brief details for the complete range of services available in the SFU Surrey Research Labs.

The following should be fleshed out

  • Fridge
    • There is a small fridge located in the IM lab.
    • $0.75CDN for any drink/chocolate bar/popsicle (when available).
    • The fridge may NOT be used to store other food/lunch.

  • Linux Workstations
    • Need Hostnames/IPs - maybe auto-fetch?
  • Windows Workstations
    • Your research login works on these machines. Ensure that the 'RESEARCH' domain is selected for login. Your U: is your network-mounted home directory (shared with Linux). The Desktop and My Documents are local the machine.
  • Networking
    • Wired
      • If you need to connect your laptop, find an open ethernet jack within research and connect up. Please avoid disconnecting other machines.
    • Wireless
      • Research has 802.11g wireless access. Please provide your hardware MAC/ethernet address to Gordon Pritchard or Mark Deepwell to gain access.
  • Who to contact for help
    • Gordon Pritchard
    • Mark Deepwell
  • Changing passwords
    • SSH to hood.iat.sfu.ca, and you will be presented with a series of prompts to change your password.
